Shelters

Shelterhouse has two homeless shelter locations: The David & Rebecca Barron Center for Men and the Esther Marie Hatton Center for Women. Single adult men and women (no families or children) can stay at the shelter and access services at no cost.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How long can I stay?
We do not have a predetermined length of stay. These are emergency shelters designed for short-term stays while residents are looking for housing.

Each person’s time at the shelter is based on their individual needs, progress toward their housing goals, and participation in services.

Do I have to pay to stay there?
No, Shelterhouse services are free.

Should I call ahead of time to reserve a bed?
No, do not call to check availability or to reserve a bed. Availability changes throughout the day. Intake is first-come, first-serve.

Shelters are open 24/7, 365 days a year.

Will you help me pay my rent?
No, Shelterhouse will not pay your rent. We provide safe lodging, 3 meals a day, and the opportunity to save money.
