Housing
Rapid Re-Housing Program
Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) helps individuals and families move out of homelessness and into stable housing quickly.
Shelterhouse’s RRH program provides:
- Temporary help with rent, security deposits, and utilities while participants work toward financial stability
- Help finding housing, completing applications, communicating with landlords, and resolving issues that may come up
- Guidance with budgeting, employment resources, benefits, healthcare connections, and other services that support long-term housing stability
The goal of this program is to help people secure housing quickly while building the income and support needed to keep it.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What happens when rental assistance ends?
We help participants increase income, access benefits, and budget so they can maintain housing on their own or find longer-term help if eligible.
How long does RRH assistance last?
Assistance is temporary and usually lasts several months, depending on funding and individual client’s progress to self-sufficiency.
I’ve been evicted before—can I still qualify for an apartment?
You may still qualify if you’ve been evicted in the past. We work with landlords who consider different housing backgrounds.
What if I have poor credit or no credit?
We can explore housing options and may explain your situation to landlords.
What if I have a criminal record?
A criminal background does not automatically disqualify you. Each situation is reviewed individually.
