Job Summary / Objective:
Responsible for overall Resident care within the Shelter, ensuring that the physical and emotional needs of the Resident is met.
Essential Functions
- Greets all Residents and prospective Residents. Provides communication, information and supplies to residents as needed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to bed assignments, locker assignments etc.
- Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation of the Shelters and other Resident areas.
- Conducts security checks in and around the Shelter and related Resident areas.
- Assigns and supervises Resident service work and encourages Residents to fully participate in agency services.
- Holds Shelter residents accountable for upholding Shelter rules and expectations. Communicates any issues or concerns to Shelter Manager.
- Takes Resident attendance, maintains bed count and ensures Shelter capacity.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the organization’s mission: “Drop Inn Center is a community of residents, staff and volunteers working together to provide basic human services for men and women experiencing homelessness with a primary commitment to shelter.”
Requirements:
- High School Diploma.
- Experience working with Homeless or special needs population preferred.
- One (1) year customer service experience.
- Ability to function effectively in an emergency situation.
- Proficiency knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook and some experience with computer database programs.
- Must be willing/able to work flexible hours, including day, night, weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to pass drug test.
